An equine safety and security day co-hosted by Thames Valley Police attracted over 50 people this Saturday (20/04).
The event, organised in partnership with Wokingham and Bearwood Riding Club, and Arborfield and Newland Parish Council
invited horse owners to bring along their tack to be security marked and speak with specialists such as the British Horse Society, National Equine Crime Database and Thames Valley Rural Crime Partners, Datatag.
PC Laura Webb who helped organise the event said: “Due to a recent spate of horse related incidents and yard breaks in the Reading area, I decided to organise a day where members of the public could come along and get free crime prevention advice, talk to security experts and get their items of tack security marked.
“We had a good turnout of people resulting in a steady flow of tack marking throughout the day. We marked approximately 25 saddles and 15 bridles.. Arbourfield, UNITED KINGDOM. April 20 2013.
